I am a baby clown and still developing my character and makeup. I am having difficulty with my red lower lip makeup. It seems to get dull after about an hour, I don't understand why. My lower lip makeup is also affected when I drink anything. Anybody have any clues or ideas? Would love to hear from all you clowns out there in the big world.
Thanks |

Hi Pansy! Welcome!
There are others with far more knowledge than I, but here is my input after 3.5 years of clowning. Do you use lipstick or makeup on your lip? I use make-up, bright red. Do you powder the makeup and then dap water afterwords to bring out the shine? That is what I do. The a little water (or even wetting with the tongue) brings out the shine again. As for drinking, I use a straw! Food or drink are hard on makeup and if you can avoid them, all the better. But if you can't, a straw works great for drinking water. Hope this helps - and I hope others with great expertise here will reply. hugs, Johnny Sunshine hugs and giggles, Johnny |

Thanks for the info Johnny Sunshine! I do use red makeup on my lips and use powder, I did not know about the water on the lips so I'll give it a try. Once again, thanks for your help! Sooooooo much to learn!

I started out with a black mouth and switched to red because if the makeup wears off when I eat or drink, my real lips still have red on them. With black, missing makeup was very noticeable. When I get really hot my makeup will run a little from sweat (even with powdering) but I find that I can run my finger over the streak and smooth it out again in most cases. My red makeup is always matte-looking. I don't know if there is anything to shine it up (like a clear shiny coat).
