Picture of Clown Dode/Dr. Clowne
Posted
Dr. Clowne, Dr. Nosey Rosey and Nurse Clarabelle were making hospital rounds. We were bedside, clowning with an adult patient when a nurse entered the room. She plopped herself down in a nearby chair and appeared to be thoroughly enjoying our performance.

We did a relaxation exercise with the patient. Dr. Clowne explained to the patient that she would use a little gas to relax him. She told him to breathe comfortably and held a container of 5-bean soup under his nose. Dr. Clowne and Nurse Clarabelle breathed along with the patient and immediately fell asleep, snoring loudly.

Dr. Nosey Rosey shook us awake, whereupon the (non-clown) nurse asked the patient if he "...had yet peed?" And Dr. Clowne pointed out that peeing is an excellent accompanyment to having gas. The three clowns hid their amazement at the nurse's public question.

I later saw that nurse in the hall and apologized for not having the foresight to leave the room when she came in. She replied, "Oh, no. I enjoyed watching you guys, I didn't want you to leave." I guess to the nurse, asking someone about his body functions is the same as asking him if he enjoyed his lunch, which is understandable once you think of it.

As Dr. Laffngiggl once said, "Be prepared for anything." Yes, indeed.
