There are times when we least expect it, that the patients are the ones who add humor to an otherwise routine day.

A year ago, I was clowning at the hospital with Santa Claus at Chistmas time. All the nurses love to hug Santa and he knows just the thing to say to each of them that brings joy to their hearts.

We had been sailing along from room to room when we walked in on a gentleman in his early 80s who was looking quite grim.

Santa started to weave a little tale of merriment when the gentleman said with a booming voice "Excuse me Santa, would you tell that nurse out there that I have to take a s_ _t." Well it was loud enough for the whole floor to hear it and the nursing station totally cracked up, along with myself.

The next thing I knew Santa was heading out to check on the reindeer setting on the helipad. His "bowl full of jelly" had come completely unglued.
