Pixie Sprite and Johnny Sunshine have been clowning at a local nursing home (care facility) for over 2 years.

Pixie makes balloon animals and flowers. Johnny performs magic tricks. Pixie has stickers, too. We do "nose transplants," turning residents into clowns and then we take a polaroid picture and give it to the resident.

We sing old songs - we introduce ourselves in song (I start, Pixie next, then together):

"I'm Johnny Sunshine
"My name is Pixie
"We're here to bring you some fun today
"We hope you'll join us in song and laughter
"And that you will have a great day!

And then we segue into "You are My Sunshine"

We sing songs like "Hot Diggity, Dog Ziggity" or "He's Got the Whole World in His Hands" or "Zip-e-dee-doo-dah" or one of many others.

We dance with the residents by holding their hands and moving to the music. Many times they are wheelcair or bed-bound and they tell us they haven't danced in years - but they sure do love dancing with us!

This is a rewarding way to clown for us.

Hi Pixie Sprite and Johnny Sunshine,

I love the way you dance at the nursing home. Great idea.
